Author Interview - Ali Kane - Paranormal Author

Thank you all for joining us. For those who love to read about the vampire worlds, I have a special treat for you. I'm glad you found your way through the woods to learn more about today's author and his character, who will be joining us shortly. The setting of our interview is in Snagov Monastery in Romania. The time is 1AM. I know the candles don't provide a lot of light so let's stay close together, for warmth as well as ...*looking into the dark corners* ...for protection.

Deanna:  Kane, thank you for being with us today. I have to ask, why this location?

Kane:  It is quiet. Bit windy though.

Deanna:  Where is he now?

Kane:  He will arrive precisely when he arrives.

Deanna: Well, let’s get started. What made you want to become a writer?

Kane: My affinity for horror movies early sparked interest in me to create my own stories. I admit, the first few short stories were very dark. It seems I carried that darkness with me for decades to come.

Deanna:  Do you write under a pen name?

Kane: Just Kane.

Deanna: As authors, we love all of our characters. Is there a certain type of character that is easier to write than another?

Kane:  I find that a character that is real and easily identifiable is easiest to capture in word form. Especially one as persuasive as Aleron. In fact, I invite you to Google Vlad, or the sisters Raya and Sakina from the book .You may be intrigued from what you’ll find.To learn about Aleron and his book, click HERE and HERE for the blurb and other interviews, but be warned, he IS addicting!

Deanna:  *my gaze darts behind Kane, ever watchful for moving shadows* Do you read in the same genre that you write in?

Kane:  I actually read all kinds of books in many different genres. However the most fascinating ones are indeed fantasy fiction.

Deanna:  Tell us about a typical day in your life as a writer.

Kane:  Writing is a full time job. I wake up. I exercise. And then I allow the spirit to move me. Sometimes I write all day. Sometimes I write only at night and into the wee hours of the morning. Some days, I simply read other books. There have been times where I would awake out of a dream and be inspired to write at that exact moment! That is when I find the crux of my ideas are born.

Deanna:  Most of us have pretty vivid imaginations when it comes to story lines. Where do your story ideas come from?

Kane: The Strigoi Series idea came from a love affair I have had with the undead for some time now. I am a fan of Bram Stoker and Anne Rice, and subsequently felt a need going unfulfilled to cater to their audiences. Many of my other ideas come from my experiences in life in general. Whether I’m in the local mall or Starbucks, I observe, scheme, and plot until I have enough to outline a good book.

Deanna:  Kane, What are you doing when you are not writing.

Kane:  I’m an avid movie goer and game player! Anything worth watching I’m there.

Deanna: Ah, our other guest has arrived! *carefully taking a step to the side* Aleron, welcome! What are you doing when you are not sucking some unfortunate victims blood?

Aleron:  Watching. Waiting. Wanting.

Deanna:  Why did you choose Kane to write your story?

Aleron:  I had been watching Kane for years. I knew he would tell my tale in a most magnificent way, has he not?

Deanna:  Kane, how did you come to meet Aleron?

Kane: I believe it was he that allowed it. I was walking to my car late on a winter night and one moment I was alone, then in the next he was with me.

Deanna:  Were you afraid?

Kane: Wouldn’t you be? Here's a link to another review of the book.

Deanna:  *pulling up the collar of my coat...for warmth* Aleron, why did you not drink Kane’s blood?

Aleron:  This world of the living is more exciting with him amongst you.

Deanna:  Anything else you would like the world to know about you or your kind?

Aleron:  Of course; However, you must read the book to know.

Deanna: Kane and Aleron, thank you so much for being with us. Readers, please leave a comment if you enjoyed meeting these two today or leave a question for them. Be careful on your out, it's dark - please stay together and don't leave alone!

Kane:  I invite you to visit my website and enjoy the other pages. Thank you all for coming....Aleron has enjoyed meeting all of you!

  2. A very interesting interview. I haven't been drawn to reading about vampires in a long time, but, I must admit that Aleron looks to be quite interesting.

Kane, how long have you been writing? What did you do before you started writing?

Aleron, what was your occupation before you became immortal?

    Thanks!

  5. To Karen: Thank you for your questions and interests in Aleron. As for me, I have been writing poems, short stories, and plays since Jr. High. Lets just say over two decades. 'Aleron' is my first published and public work. More are soon to follow. :-) Before I began writing full time, I was primarily in IT management (boring!). I also managed for AMC Theaters for a stint (Loved it!)

Aleron will be logging in a bit later (after the sun sets) and he will personally answer your queries.

  6. To Sarah and Brenda, thank you for your comments and compliments. Aleron is book one of five of my new Strigoi Series. The best is yet to come! Aleron and I just returned from Romania. He wanted to show me first hand of the places he described for me in the novel. I was quite intrigued by the Poenari Citadel as well as Castle Bran. Stay tuned to www.aleron.co and FB because pics will be up soon. Thank you again for your comments.
